Riddle Me This
Why didn't BushCo simply order Dubya to sign the Iraq spending bill - and the issue a signing statement? Its happened before. Dubya issued a signing statement on the anti-torture bill, and on over 750 other bills.
I agree with Ron... I can't wait for an inquiry into the signing statements. What Bush is doing goes against the Constitution, which has provision for keeping the president from concentrating power in the executive branch at the expense of the Congress and judiciary. I would like the Supreme Court to issue a judgment on this particular Bush behavior before the GOP finds a way to get John Paul Stephens off the Court and replace him with some whacko.

Bu$hCo wants to push the Dems into defunding the war, so he can blame them for it's failure.
Waxman has promised we're going to talk about Chimpy's magic pen. The signing statement stopped being a viable option in January.
I can't wait for the Waxman hearings on signing statements!
Riddle me this, riddle me that Shrub is nothing more than ass! Have a nice day! LOL...............
The most likely reasons for Bush vetoing the bill instead of using one of his signing statements were outlined yesterday (May 2nd) at DailyKos.
As for Dubya himself - looks like he has crossed the Rubicon ...
Thanks for stopping by and your comments, don't know how you find me but glad you did.
Hi folks, thanks for the comments. Mentarch's analysis is excellent; I highly recommend.
